Recipe Ingredients

  • Potato  ½ kg
  • Yogurt 125 gm
  • Boiled tomatoes 2
  • Green chilies 3
  • Boiled eggs 3
  • Coriander leaves ¼ bunch
  • Water 1 cup
  • Oil  ¼ cup
  • Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
  • Turmeric  1 tsp
  • Chili powder  1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste  1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • Onion seeds ½ tsp
  • Tamarind paste  2 tbsp
  • Salt  to taste

Recipe Method

  1. Cut ½ kg potatoes into thin round slices. Keep aside.
  2. Heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add 3 boiled eggs and fry till golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  3. In the remaining oil add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and fry.
  4. Now add 2 tbsp tamarind pulp and 125 gm yogurt. Fry for few seconds.
  5. Add ½ tsp onion seeds, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp crushed red pepper, salt to taste, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder and 2 boiled chopped tomatoes.
  6. Fry for 1 – 1 ½ minutes.
  7. Add in sliced potatoes. Cook for 1 – 2 minutes.
  8. Add 1 cup water and simmer on low flame for 8 – 10 minutes.
  9. Now add 3 chopped green chilies, ¼ bunch of coriander leaves and fry well on high flame.
  10. Dish it out, garnish with boiled egg cut into four pieces each.
  11. Serve hot.
