Indonesian Beef Onion

 

Recipe Ingredients

Beef undercut    1/2 kg

Onion  1

Garlic  4-5 cloves

Fresh red chili   3-4

Lemon grass   1/2 tsp

Turmeric  1 tsp

Chopped coriander  1 tsp

Lemon zest   ½ tsp

Tamarind paste  1 tbsp

Coconut milk  1 cup

Water  1/2 cup

Soy sauce  1 tbsp

Salt    as required

Crushed cumin 1 tsp

Fresh coconut  50 grams

Oil  3 tbsp

Half onion  for garnishing

Recipe Method

Cut beef into cubes and keep aside.

In a juicer blender blend onion, ginger, garlic, red chili, lemon grass, turmeric, fresh coconut and 1/2 cup of water and make a paste.

Heat oil in a wok fry beef till it changes the color.

Add crushed cumin, crushed coriander and sauté for two minutes.

Add the blended mixture and sauté for 2 more minutes.
