Kashmiri Do Pyaza Recipe

Mutton do pyaza has lot of flavors and is cooked in tomato paste. It has strong aroma and is served with onion rings. You can enjoy it with naan.
Kashmiri Do Pyaza
Recipe Ingredients

  • Mutton ½ kg
  • Onions ¼ kg
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Tomato paste 2 cups
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Cardamom Powder ½ tsp
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Cinnamon 1
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Fenugreek 2 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil ½ cup
Recipe Method

  1. Separate the onions into two portions.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and add onions, fry till golden brown.
  3. Now add the cinnamon, bayleaves, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric, fennel seeds, fenugreek and coriander powder.
  4. Saute for 5 minutes.
  5. Now add the meat and ginger garlic paste.
  6. Saute for sometime and add the tomato paste.
  7. On a medium flame continue cooking until mutton tenders and the mixture becomes completely dry.
  8. Now add onion rings and the cardamom powder to the meat.
  9. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. Kashmiri dopyaza is ready.
