Kofta Badami Recipe

The koftas (meatballs) in this dish can be made with beef, lamb or chicken. It makes a great meal when served with boiled rice and mix vegetable salad.
Kofta Badami
Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo Beef mince
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 tsp ginger chopped
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • to taste salt
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 3 boiled tomatoes
  • 30 grams almonds, crushed
  • 300 grams yogurt
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • to taste salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • to taste all spice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
Recipe Method

  1. Place first eight ingredients in a blender
  2. Blend until well combined.
  3. Take mixture out in a bowl.
  4. Boil almonds in water and peel.
  5. Make small balls with kofta mixture.
  6. Place an almond in the middle of each ball.
  7. Place in refrigerator until set.
  8. Heat oil in a wok.
  9. Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onions in it for 3mins
  10. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  11. Add all spices, turmeric powder, cumin, coriander powder, red chili,1/2 cup water and salt.
  12. Cover pan with lid and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  13. In a blender blend boiled tomatoes, yogurt, boiled almonds.
  14. Add the paste and 1/2 cup of water in gravy.
  15. Bring to a boil and carefully place prepared kofta balls in it.
  16. Cover and cook until meat is cooked.
  17. Uncover and stir well.
  18. Garnish with coriander leaves.
