PAKISTANI POTATO CUTLETS

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 1-2 green chillies finely chopped
  • a little chopped fresh green coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • a little gram flour for binding (besan)
  • oil for deep frying

COOKING DIRECTIONS

Put the oil to heat for deep frying. Put the grated potatoes in a bowl and mix with all the ingredients except the gram flour.

Add a little gram flour just to bring the mixture together.

Shape into small balls and flatten a bit to make the shape of a small cake.

Deep fry in the oil on medium heat till golden brown . Drain well and serve with sauce or chutney of your choice.
