Patiyala Gosht

Mutton ½ kg
Ghee ½ cup
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Bay leaves 2
Chili powder 2 tsp
Onion chopped 250 gm
Black cardamoms 3 – 4
Cloves 5
Cinnamon 2 pieces
Tomatoes sliced 250 gm
Water 1 cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric 1 tsp
Green chilies 6
Coriander leaves ½ bunch

• Cut ½ kg mutton into small cubes.
• Heat ½ cup ghee in a clay pot, heat 250 gm chopped onion and fry till a little brown.
• Now add mutton cubes and salt to taste. Also add 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tbsp cumin powder, 3 – 4 black cardamoms, 5 cloves, 2 bay leaves, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tbsp ginger paste, 1 tbsp garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tbsp coriander powder.
• Fry for 1 minute. Add 1 cup water, cover and cook on medium flame till meat is tender.
• Now open the lid, fry well till water dries. Add 250 gm sliced tomatoes, 6 green chilies and ½ bunch of coriander leaves. Simmer for 10 minutes.
• Dish it out, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
