SCOTCH EGGS

INGREDIENTS

  • Mince meat (beef or mutton) 8 oz
  • Eggs 2 boiled
  • Onion 1 (chopped)
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustard paste 1 tsp
  • White vinegar 2 tsp
  • Eggs 2-3 (for coating)
  • Corn flakes 1 cup (finely crushed)
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Cheese 1/2 cup grated
  • Flour (maida) 1 tbsp

COOKING DIRECTIONS

Just boil the mince with 1 cup water until the water dries. Then grind the mince.

Heat 2 tbsp oil, fry the onion until golden, add mince, salt, pepper, mustard paste, vinegar and lastly the flour, take it away from the fire.

Make equal balls of mince.

Boil the eggs and after peeling cut each egg in pieces.

Take a portion of the mince and flatten on your palm. Then put one piece of the egg, sunny side down on the mince and put some of the grated cheese (1/2 tsp) on the egg and press lightly.

Make oval shapes. Kip these in the beaten egg first and then roll these in the crushed corn flakes. Deep-fry the eggs.

Serve these with French fries and tomato sauce or hot sauce. Serve hot. You can also freeze them and fry them later on.
