Steamed Fish Bangali Style Recipe

Steamed Fish Bangali Style
Recipe Ingredients

  • Fish 2 lb
  • Turmeric powder 1 level dessertspoon
  • Dry red chilies 3
  • Green chilies 6
  • Mustard seeds 1 heaped tsp
  • Mustard oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Recipe Method

  1. Wash and slice the fish or cut into large pieces.
  2. Add salt and set aside.
  3. Grind the turmeric, red chilies and mustard seeds with a tbsp of water to make a paste.
  4. Slit the green chilies.
  5. Mix together the fish, ground paste, oil and green chilies in a double boiler and steam for 10 minutes.
  6. Uncover, turn the pieces of fish and steam again for 10 more minutes.
  7. Serve with boiled rice.
