Tukish Semolina Cake Recipe

You don’t need to have a liking for Turkish cuisine to enjoy this marvelous cake *SLASH* dessert. Whether you serve it warm or cold, it taste absolutely scrumptious.
Tukish Semolina Cake
Recipe Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil 1 glass
  • Yogurt 1 glass
  • Semolina 2 glass
  • Sugar 1/2 glass
  • Vanilla sugar 1 pack
  • Backing powder 1 tsp
  • Eggs 3
  • Cherries 1 tin or nuts (optional)
  • For Sugar Syrup:
  • Sugar 2, 1/2 glass
  • Water 2, 1/2 glass
  • Lemon juice of 1
  • *Use the same glass for the entire recipe*
Recipe Method

  1. For Cake:
  2. Beat together sugar and eggs till creamy.
  3. Mix in yogurt and oil.
  4. Gradually add rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  5. Grease a cake pan with some oil and pour the cake batter in it.
  6. Bake for 20 – 30 min at 190 C. (check after 20 minutes if the cake is ready)
  7. For Sugar Syrup:
  8. Cook together sugar, lemon juice and water til done.
  9. Pour the sugar syrup on cake and let it absorb.
  10. Garnish with cherries or nuts, cut in squares and enjoy.
