Boost Your Breakfast with Chia Seeds

My favorite go-to breakfast is a bowl of granola with almond milk. I add fresh fruit and nuts to make it flavorful, interesting, and extra nutritious. Lately, I’ve also been adding a scoop of chia seeds, the baby black and white seeds you’ve been hearing about. Chia seeds are loaded with protein, omega-3s, fiber, and other essential minerals. Chia seeds can also be used as a natural appetite suppressant, because the seeds expand by 9 times of their own weight once they’re in your stomach.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe for raspberry granola with added chia seeds. If you want to add more chia to your diet, try adding them to soups, stews, smoothies, cereal, juice, or homemade bread or muffins. Oh, and check out my Chocolate Superfood Smoothie recipe with chia seeds. There’s even a video that shows you how to make it.
