• White fish red snapper fillet 1kg
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Batter ingredients:
  • plain flour / maida1 cup
  • milk 1/2 cup
  • water 1/2 cup
  • baking powder 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • carom seeds 1 tsp
  • red chili 1/2 tsp
  • finely chopped green chili 1- 2
  • Marinating ingredients:
  • turmeric powder1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • dry roasted cumin1tsp
  • ginger paste1 tsp
  • garlic paste1 tsp
  • lemon Juice 2-3
  • Masala Chips
  • Ingredients:
  • 4-5 large potatoes, cut in to thick chips
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • Chaat masala
  • Khaatai
  • Salt to taste
  • Vinegar
  • Oil to deep fry


To make batter whisk together the flour, milk, water, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until smooth.

Marinate fish with marinate above and leave for 10-15 minutes.

To fry fish:
Heat oil to deep fry in wok on medium heat – once hot, dip fish in batter and fry for a few minutes until crispy and fluffy, drain with slotted spoon and place on kitchen paper to soak of excess oil.

Serve immediately.

Chips method:
Boil water and add 1/2 tsp salt in a saucepan and boil cut potatoes for 4-6 minutes until half cooked, drain.

Heat oil on medium heat, coat potatoes in rice flour, and fry for a few minutes until golden brown.

To serve, sprinkle khaatai, chaat masala, salt and vinegar
